Review: IOPE Air Cushion® XP

1

The most popular cushion in Korea. Worth it?

*This cushion is mentioned in my huge cushion comparison, pt 1.

I was really curious about this cushion but then I wanted to wait till I go to Korea because I heard the cosmetics there is much cheaper than on the internet (cosmetic-love, ibuybeauti, jolse <- shops I buy from) but ibuybeauti was having 10% off all products plus extra gifts (I will be doing shop review shortly) so I said why not? I want it anyway so yeah. I was really excited to recieve this product and try it on because I read really good reviews.

IOPE Air Cushion® has revolutionized makeup trends and has truly earned a name for itself in the cosmetics industry. IOPE Air Cushion®, a cushion-type foundation with sun protection and the first of its kind in the market, has changed the way in which women use cosmetics. This major innovation combines the functions of both makeup and UV protection simultaneously through the inventive product design, which is use to use and simplifies the makeup process. To this day, IOPE Air Cushion® is leading the cushion foundation category and innovations in the beauty industry. Air Cushion® is IOPE’s No. 1 best seller that is beloved by many consumers.

So I’ll start with the box itself. It’s approximately the same size as Hera’s, it’s nice looking, glossy dark blue with mirror-like silver top.

Inside the box is the cushion (15g makeup), refill (15g makeup) and instructions (as you can see on the first picture).

I got shade 21 in cover version. The shade matches me perfectly. Now let’s talk a bit about the cushion itself. The packaging is really nice. The top is glitterly, I wish you could see it properly. The IOPE letters create a shade on the glitterly top under it. The sides are mirror-like silver and the bottom is glitterly as well. The refill is plain white.

The puff is classical air puff. The sponge inside the cushion is pretty normal too.

Okay now to what it claims and what it really does. First it has SPF 50+ PA+++, that is absolutely amazing. As I said already, I want to keep my skin as protected as I can so this is a big plus. Next they say it’s sweat proof and yes, it is. In the video down below you can see at the end that I changed my hair colour and that is because I was in hair salon for 3 hours, on my way there and home I was sweating, it wasn’t hot but I had winter jacket so I was hot but the makeup was all right all the time which honestly surprised me. It’s also long wearing, they claim it stays 12 hours. Well yesterday it was something over 8 hours and it still held pretty well. The coverage however isn’t as great as I thought. Yes, it evens out my skintone and everything but as you can see in the video, I have real beak out going on and the cushion on itself doesn’t cover every pimple. But that’s fine, we have concealers for that job, at least it doesn’t look like a mask. It feels light weighted, I don’t really feel it on my face. The finish is dewy, for me a little bit too dewy and I’m quite scared to leave it on its own, personally I think I’d be oily as hell. But it’s hydrating and that is good, lately I have dry skin. The claim it’s anti wrinkle which again, yes. Basically all it claims, it really does. And is it worth the money? Definitely. When it does all these things plus is comes with refill (30g of product totally), it’s definitely the perfect deal.

I’m sorry for not having photos of me before and after the 8 hours, I forgot to take them, orz. But at least I have the video, right? Also in the video I use Aritaum’s Full Cover Liquid Concealer to cover the remaining blemishes, Skinfood’s Salmon Darkcircle Concealer Cream to cover the dark circles and Innisfree’s No Sebum Mineral Powder. Reviews for all three products are coming soon.

Demo, review and comparison with other cushions:

So I hope this review was helpful for you. I highly recommend this cushion. I’m planning on buying refills for Intense Cover and Matte versions once I’m in Korea 🙂
