Review (acne skin): Mamonde Real Skin Founder

0

Ah, I missed testing out foundations, cushions and BB creams (my last one is two months old q_q). But look, I finally got myself into doing another testing of a base makeup product. So today I am bringing you my opinions on Mamonde Real Skin Founder. I know a few youtubers (okay, I know one) who rave about this and it’s been in my wishlist for over a half a year, maybe? Finally got it, yay! If you’re interested in my thoughts, keep on reading~

*This cushion is mentioned in my huge cushion comparison, pt 2.

Packaging

The box is simple and pretty. The front and back are in dark greenish brown (?), the sides are peachy pink. It is lacking English information but you can get them online (Jolse or Aritaum’s website). On the top side, there’s your shade.

The case looks like a regular cushion case. The top is glossy chrome rose gold and bottom is matte pink. It comes with a regular air puff that we all know from cushion foundations.

Product

There are 2 shades available: #01 and #02.

I’ve got the shade #01 and I’d say it basically represents the regular shade #21 so it means, it’s a little too dark for me. However, I think during the summer it will match me perfectly.

It is a BB cake, just like my oh so beloved Aritaum Full Cover BB Cake that I raved about during the last winter. The big difference between these two is that Mamonde is way drier and even with my combo skin, I feel like I have to use a heavy moisturizer (plus it’s starting to get cold so f.e. my forehead is dying). Since it’s so dry, it emphasizes dry patches, it makes my skin (forehead) feel extra tight which is the best feeling.

It claims to be “thin and moist foundation + the powder”. The powder part explains why it’s so dry. But I definitely don’t think it’s thin, nor  moist or moisturizing or whatever.

I honestly don’t like applying it with the puff that comes with it. Lately, I’ve been loving using brushes so I use this with round top kabuki brush and it works way better than the puff. I just feel like the puff makes it hard to blend and applies too much product.

It has SPF33 PA++ which is nice but I still love having SPF50+.

The coverage is medium, it doesn’t cover my red spots nor acne scars. It lasts for a good amount of time and doesn’t break down or cake up around my mouth, chin and nose as easily as other base makeup I have tried over the past year. When used with a mattifying primer, it looks great the whole day. The finish is matte.

Overall

Again, I have mixed feelings about it. I don’t think I will use it during the winter but instead I’ll use it a lot during the summer because of its longevity.

Since it’s so dry, I don’t recommend it to dry skintypes. Oily skintypes would like this way more, so highly recommend for them. Also, I recommend it more for summer, rather than winter.
